Planning by Doing: How small, citizen-powered projects inform large planning decisions (Volume II)

Published: February 2016

by Gehl Studio San Francisco

Part two of a two-volume evaluation and analysis report prepared for us by Ghel Studio San Francisco on the 2015 Market Street Prototyping Festival.

The follow up volume to Market Street Prototyping Festival evaluation (Makers on Market), this shorter companion study focuses on the takeaways from the event as “action oriented planning” that can be applied to other projects. This is another great report by Ghel Studios that reflects the best of MSPF and provides a useful summary of the process along with other great examples from around the world. This document is for civic leaders, planners, citizen activisits, arts organizations seeking to use prototyping and other Action-Oriented tools to make change in their cities.
